The Data type word consists of two 16 bit values :
Bit 0-15 : Standard Filetype
Bit 16-31 : "Subtype"
Subtype 0 means that the filetype says it all, while subtypes &0001 to &04FF are reserved for the user. Applications for general distribution should request a proper allocation.
