VDU 9 advances the cursor
In VDU 4 mode this is the text cursor, in VDU 5 mode the graphics cursor. Motion is to positive X (default is right, set by VDU 23,16). If at the end of a row (column with vertical printing) it moves to the end of the next row (or column) scrolling the screen where necessary.
The cursor is advanced 1 character width, not to the next tab column.
