This memo defines an extension to the Management Information Base (MIB) for use with network management protocols in TCP/IP-based internets. In particular, it defines objects for managing DS3 and E3 Interfaces. This document is a companion document with Definitions of Managed Objects for the DS1 Interface Type.
This document entirely replaces RFC1233, which contains a fundamental error: many objects are encoded as Counters that must be encoded as INTEGERs or Gauges. The magnitude of the change required is sufficient that virtually every object changed. Therefore, the MIB documented in RFC1233 should not be implemented.
