This memo investigates issues for Host Identity Protocol (HIP) nodes that
communicate over a network path that inlcudes Network Address Translators
(NATs). There are two groups of issues: Operating HIP itself across NATs
and operating the IPsec-based data transmission initiated by HIP across
NATs. For both groups problems are summarized.
