Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP) defines a number of authentication
schemes. Network access authentication requires a host to authenticate
itself before being authorized for sending and receiving packets. The
Protocol for Carrying Authentication for Network Access (PANA) is defined
in this document. PANA is a link-layer agnostic carrier for EAP. PANA
specifies the client-to-network access authentication within the scope of
an overall secure network access framework.
