This document presents a set of objectives for an interoperable protocol
for the Control and Provisioning of Wireless Access Points (CAPWAP). It
presents objectives in three categories: architecture, operations and
security. The primary purpose of the document is to present focused
requirements which when realized, will ensure interoperability among
wireless local area network (WLAN) devices of alternative designs. These
objectives will form the basis for the development and evaluation of a
CAPWAP protocol.
