The Point-to-Point Over Ethernet (PPPoE) Protocol [3] provides a standard
method for encapsulating Point-to-Point Protocols (PPP) [1] over Ethernet.
This document extends the PPPoE protocol with a credit based flow control
mechanism and Link Quality Metric report. The PPPoE specification is also
extended to allow TLV Tags in the PPP Session Stage. These extensions are
optional to retain backwards compatibility and at the same time provide for
future extendibility.
